The Letter 3

One day , I was at work, James called me to come over to Victoria Island in Lagos. At first I was reluctant to go, I decided to agree on the condition that he comes over to pick me. He agreed and came over and we headed off to VI.

When I got to where he wanted me to come, I saw a new uncompleted building.I asked him why he brought me here. He laughed and said it was a surprise. He never told me about his new house and seeing it was a surprise to me.
He took my hands and we entered into the main building. The building was big and spacious. We began to plan on where and how we will fix everything once it is completed. He took me round the building and showed me everything that was inside the building. I was pleased and happy that once we are married, we would pack in immediately.

When we got there, the last place he took me to was the bathroom. I was surprised and confused at the same time. Why would he bring me into the bathroom of all places. " Babe! Eeerm! What exactly are we doing here? " I asked him. He came closer and shut the bathroom door. I moved backward , pushed myself to the wall. I wasn't expecting him to do anything stupid but his actions made me think twice.

He placed his hands on the wall, and lowered his head to kiss me. I allowed him to do that. It was getting out of hand and there was a possibility for me to get raped. I pushed him away with full force, kicked him where no man wants to be kicked , I opened the door and walked out , leaving his sorry self in the bathroom.

I went home alone thankful because I wasn't raped or anything of such. I was so mad at him that I refused to listen to him when he came begging me to forgive him. It took me three weeks to forgive him.
James was my suitor, on the other hand, there was another guy who was also interested in me but had no money. He can't be compared to James. This guy talked to me into leaving James for him that James wasn't the man for me. I looked at him and asked him not to utter such words again. Infact I totally barned him from coming anywhere close to me.

Mark is a Yoruba boy, educated and  well behaved but he was classless. These qualities made me disliked him and I tried as much as possible to ignore him anytime he comes close to me. James began to notice that mark was always around me at the end of every service. He decided to confront Mark and asked him to stay off me.

Mark was ready to settle down with me but James wasn't because he wanted to settle some project works he did. Mark talked to me severally and got tired . I have never seen a man cried for me, except mark. Which he did in my presence.

After many years, I forgot about Mark and his proposal, James and I were very much in love like love birds. I called it love because we know how to make ourselves happy and satisfied.
