The problem solver.
This is a question that always rings a bell in my ears. Is God involved?. When carrying out a project do you involve God? When planning a trip or an even, do you involve God. Many a times, we do things at our own thereby putting God aside.
We can never know more than God. No matter how smart or knowledgeable we think we are, one thing is for sure, we can never know more than our creator.
The mistake we make often is to ignore the fact that God has the answer to everything and he is always the solution to all problems. When we have mountains in our lives,or problems that seems unsolvable, we run to somewhere to get solution instead of seeking the face of God.
This story made me think twice about where and how i am always in a haste to get a solution to my problems.
There were three traders, who buys and sells goods in bulk. So for them to prevent their goods from damaging, these three traders came together and planned on what to do. They came into an agreement to get a store, which will be big enough to contain their goods.
Since they have came into an agreement, they got a store and the next action is for them to transfer their goods permanently to the store. Their business were booming and flourishing everyday.
But something happened along the way, something they were not expecting came in to destroy their goods. Every morning they would always notice that something ate their goods in a way that they could not think of something else other than rat.
Rat has always been eaten their goods bit by bit, every night to the extent that the goods could not be sold anymore. These three traders decided on what to do to avoid this rat from eating up their goods. They decided to buy a cat, not just a cat, a big cat for that matter. While this cat stays in the stall, they made the cat their responsibility, and they have a shift on who will always take care of the cat for a whole day.
These traders lived in harmony and of course the rat reduces the way it comes to the store. A day came, the cat mistakenly hit its leg on a wooden chair and its leg got broke. So the trader who supposed to take care of the cat made it in time, took the cat to the nearest hospital and treated the cat and brought the cat back to the store, she prepared to for that would carry the cat till the next day, but she forgot to put off the lantern, usually, they never forge to put it off after every shit. He remembered it when he was miles away, and of course he could not go back,he concluded that nothing would go wrong.
That same night was the day the rat prepared to come back and eat up what he has not eaten for a long time. On getting their, the cat sensed that the rat was back, he stood up and could not walk fast to chase the rat. His right leg was plastered, coupled with the pains, which made the rat so lucky that night.
The cat was so disturbed that he could not stand the noise of the cat, he was about to chase the rat, he kicked the stool where the lantern was kept, and the lantern fell on the carpet and slowly, the kerosene started pouring out and before some one could say jack , the store caught fire and burnt everything in there.
The next morning, these three traders were all joyful and full of expectation that the cat would get better. On getting there, they saw something they did not hope for. Their store, goods and their cat all burnt to ashes. They were in great pains. Of course they lost some thing so valuable:their goods. After a moment , the three traders started calculating and cracking their brains to know how it happened; they could only remember who took care of the cat last, and it happened to be one of them. They started throwing blames at each other and fighting each other.
Interesting right? Now a times we sort solutions from wrong places, at times solutions that will even increase the degree of our problems. Now the rat in this story represents our problems, the mountains that seems unmovable in our lives, the CAT signifies the solution we sort for, which in turn might not give us the solution we are seeking for. The three traders signifies our BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT. Now what happens whenever we sort for a solution that did not work out according to our own plans not God's plans. We tend to blame and fight our very own self. We begin to say things like' how I wish I never sort my solution from this angle, how I wish I went to a better place, I am just a failure, how I wish I listened to my inner mind,' and so many ranting.
At times the method or means we use in solving our problems might even worsen it rather than making it better. The cat in this story represents the solution the traders came up with to solve the problem of the rat eaten up their goods. In their own sigh, they have conquered and won victoriously but to God they seem to lack understanding, and at the end, what they got was destruction. The bible says in prov 16:25, 'there is a way that seems right to a man, but it's end is the way of death.' Their ways seemed right to them, but the end was destruction.
God can only intervene in our situations if if we seek his face ,and if our ways are his. The bible also made us understand that when a man's way is pleasing before God, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. When we have a problem, and our solution is to seek the face of God, those our problems will succour and obey no other person than our ultimate solution.
Note from the author: Nothing will ever work according to our plans, except we seek God, although it might seem like its working greatly according to how we have orchestrated it, along the way, it will stumble and crash because God is not involved in the solution we sort for.
