The society has made it look so abominable for the pure and clean folks to mingle with prostitutes. When someone is seen talking to a prostitute ,it means the person is into what they do. Come off it!!!!
They are not harmful. They just need love someone to teach them the way. Which is preach the word of God to them.
I have never came to a close contact with prostitutes until I met one. One day one of them came to me while I was in the market buying food stuffs and said“ my friend,I hear say you sell shoes, abeg I fit buy from you?" I looked at her without being judgemental. When I looked at her I could see a beautiful lady with a good heart .
It was as if we have met before. I felt a little bit strange and uncomfortable around her. But something inside me said“ loosen up a bit, she needs your friendship".
I took notice of everything on her body, her tattoo,her pierced nose and ear,her lengthy artificial eye lashes and her short dress.“ not that bad. " I said to myself.
After her request, I gave her my phone to scroll through and make her choice. In the process of checking my pictures ,she was amazed at the beautiful shoes she saw.
“ whoa!!! My friend you get fine fine shoes ooo. The pikin shoe wey I see enter my eyes."
I smiled and asked her if that's what she wants to buy and she said
“ yes oooo!! I wan buy am for my pikin. I get a boy and a girl". I was amazed and I asked her“ you have kids?". She said “ yes na ,I get pikin,na this work wey I dey do I dey use take care of them."
We discussed a lot that day. Meeting this beautiful and nice lady whom I no longer see as a prostitute but I see her as a lady who is ready to embrace change,a lady who got into prostitution because of curcumstances, I saw a loving and free spirited lady.
Whenever she sees me, she would always say“ my friend I hope say you go give me your phone today make I check for fine fine shoes".
I would smile and nod my head.
