It came as a terrifying event today to the residents of Akute in Ogun state, especially to shop owners in Jolascoop market as they watch their shops and houses being destroyed mercilessly.
As they say it is a government's property made it mandatory for them to move or else something they did not imagine might happen at the end.
Many residents who were not affected in any way surfaced at the destruction ground either to sympathize with the victims or just to feed their eyes.
Waking up this morning to behold this heart touching event has made their day a cold one because they couldn't imagine such thing will happen to them.
In essence, they started their week in a shattered way,following the immediate demolition of their shops and houses.
Flashing back as at how the market was and how scattered and disorganized it looks now, made it unbelievable that something like this could happen.
None of the residents could put a single smile on their faces because they have to start thinking of another place to relocate and which could cost them a lot of money.
Speaking with Lillyvillenaija, a shop owner who pleaded anonymity said:" Although they told us about this destruction in January 6th and since that time, they haven't told us anything again. Coming unannounced today, made everything hard right now. "
She continued " As the government has started this unprepared project, Only God knows when they will finish it because I have seen many projects they started that took them five years to finish and still counting ", she said with a feeling of disappointment.
There were mummerings everywhere, people carrying their goods and valuables as fast as they could, people who were not affected were selling while others were busy fighting and trying their luck with government's agents not to destroy their shops.
But common, their is nothing they can do to help them. They have to destroy them anyways.
Peace and order could not be found in the midst of these shop owners because they cannot see themselves selling anything today, talk more of having a place to sell for today.
