Some Nigerians were eager to witness the birthday of Olusegun Obasanjo who turned 81 and in a way they were also expecting a congratulatory message from Mr president, there was no happy birthday message sent out from President Buhari‘s office to congratulate him.
It has been said that the practice in the presidency has been that president sends congratulatory messages to every head of state and some top Nigerian dignitaries on their birthday anniversaries.
Last year, President Buhari while on his sick bed did fail to call ex-president Obasanjo to wish him a happy 80th birthday.
There are assumptions on social media that the reason president Buhari failed to send a birthday message to Olusegun Obasanjo on his birthday message may have a connection with the explosive letter Obasanjo had written to President Buhari asking him to resign from his seat.
Nigerians are very observant to the point that some of them pointed out the error from the presidency.
