NYSC introduces U-Report program to serving corps members in Ondo State

  The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Ondo State in collaboration with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Federal Government introduced the U-Report program, for serving corps members in the state.

The sensitization program kicked up with  an opening remarks given by the State Coordinator, Mr Sunday Robert Aroni. In his speech, he welcomed every corps member present at the event and other NYSC officials,informing everyone present at the sensitization about the importance of the gathering.

The NYSC State Co-ordinator, Ondo State,, made it known to the corps members that the U-Report project is going to enable them contribute to government policies, and give them a voice as to things happening around them, adding that any corps member who did not participate in the program will face a penalty and those who showed uttermost obedience will be rewarded accordingly.

 U-Report which is a free SMS social monitoring tool for community participation was initiated UNICEF,designed to address issues that the population cares about within and outside their community,was introduced to the corps members at the NYSC Zonal Secretariat, Oda Road, Akure.

The NYSC scheme joined the U-Report program in the year 2014, the program is aimed at drawing the government closer to the people, through the corps members and at the same being an ambassadors of U-Report.
