NYSC band Akure elected new
officials into different offices today as the outgoing Batch B stream1and 2
officials stepped down from their various posts after rendering a service of humility and selflessness to the Band CDS group.
The election kicked off as the outgoing president, Ojedeji Emmanuel
introduced the candidates to other corps members for final recognition.
Afterwards, the candidates were called upon for their manifestos, starting from
the Provost to the president.
Each aspiring candidate was on a hot sit today because no
one was certain about the votes and who will be the winner except those who
were unopposed could make bold that they will have the support of other corps
members.
On the other hand, the electoral committees along side with
the president ensured the smoothness of the election and everything was done in
thorough orderliness. Every corps member was given a chance to vote for his/her
favourite candidates that deems fit for the post.
After the votes were casted, the electoral committees treated
the votes with uttermost integrity and honesty by ensuring that everyone’s
votes count. It could be recalled that no votes was rigged or by any chance
miscounted.
After the votes were counted, the electoral chairman, Corps member
Bamidele Oludare announced the winners for each posts both opposed and unopposed,
in an anti-climax order, starting from the provost down to the president.
For fairness and hope, those who did not emerge as winners,
were given a chance to fill other posts that were considered empty. It could be
recalled that those candidates who voluntarily gave themselves up to occupy
those posts were satisfied in their hearts and are determined to do a better
job in their new positions.
Lilian, we must employ you after the service ooo! Good job
