Wife wants to dissolve her marriage over her husband's excessive request for sex

A woman named Foluke Ojo who has been married for 14yrs asked a magistrate court sitting in Akure to dissolve her 14yr old marriage without her husband ,Busuyi over allegation for his excess demand for sex

Foluke appealed with the court to dissolve the marriage stating that she was fed up of the marriage.

The duo had agreed before the court that they are both in support of dissolution, stating that they are no longer enjoying the marriage.

The applicant told the court that her husband has stopped performing his fatherly duties which includes taking care of her and her entire family members ,coupling with the situation that her love for him has also reduced, pleading with the court to grant her request.

Her husband pleaded with the court also to grant his wife's request which she asked from the court.

Foluke informed the court that she can no longer accept her husband's excessive request for sex and if she turns down his request, he has no choice than to beat her mercilessly.

She recalled:" there was a day my husband beat me up and my mother had to rush me to the hospital".

Busuyi on the other part, denied the allegation placed on him, saying that his wife does not listen to him at home, adding that she does not behave like properly like a house wife.

The respondent said:" she dresses like a whore and puts on any dress she likes without realising that she is a married woman".

Hearing from both sides by the ruling judge , Mr Ayodele Omotola in his judging declared the union a broken union, thereby urging the two parties to try and allow peace to reign again.

The court president requested that the respondent should pay a sum of #5,000 to the court for his children's feeding.
